Manchester United could sensationally about to beat Chelsea to a second summer signing: report

Chelsea Football Club could be about to get beaten to the signature of a second summer signing, according to Daily Mail, as per The Sun. The report claims that after Romelu Lukaku chose Red over Blue, another star could be about to follow suit; AS Monaco’s Tiemoue Bakayoko.

The holding midfielder has been heavily linked with a move to Stamford Bridge, but apparently, that move has now stalled and Jose Mourinho is ready to swoop.

Bakayoko, 22, has been a part of that sensational Monaco side that took Ligue 1 and Europe by storm last season. They ended the season as French champions, but the team is already started to be broken up, thanks to Bernardo Silva’s move to Manchester City.

In my opinion, the midfield area still needs some work doing to it this season, because Ander Herrera and Paul Pogba simply cannot do it on their own. Bakayoko would come in and do all the dirty work, allowing the aforementioned duo to bomb forward and affect the game in the final third.

However, a deal will have to be pushed through quickly if the Red Devils want the Frenchman to be a part of their pre-season tour.

What I will say is that this cannot be doing any favours for our apparent move to bring in Nemanja Matic. Then again, if we land Bakayoko then we won’t need the huge Serb.
