Manchester United are all set for the announcement of Jose Mourinho, according to Samuel Luckhurst of the Manchester Evening News. He says that Mourinho’s agent Jorge Mendes is due to fly into Manchester and conclude talks before the official unveiling of his appointment on Tuesday.
The journalist goes on to add that Jose Mourinho wanted this deal to be wrapped up as quick as possible as he wanted to get back into work before the European Championships.
It certainly is exciting times for Manchester United. The self-proclaimed Special One is one of the best managers in the world, and there is absolutely no doubt about that.
Manchester United will have to act quick though, as they are yet to announce the departure of Louis van Gaal. With Tuesday being just 36 hours away, we should expect some sort of movement on that front soon.
One thing that does leave a sour taste in the mouth is the way in which this whole situation has been dealt with. It hasn’t been great on Manchester United’s part, and it feels like Louis van Gaal was the last man to know that he was leaving.
