Manchester United and Zlatan Ibrahimovic are in preliminary talks over a new contract for the 36-year-old, according to The Independent. On top of that, the influential Swede is all set for a surprise new coaching role at the Theatre of Dreams once his playing career finishes.
The 6’5 striker has been out since April with a serious knee problem, but apparently, Jose Mourinho is keen on bringing Ibrahimovic back due to the influence he can have on the rest of the playing squad.
This is a man who has been there and done it at the highest level of football – and he’s consistently been at the top for the last decade. In his debut season in England, he scored a huge 26 goals – which was by far and away our best tally scored by an individual last term.
I love the idea of getting him in as a coach when he finally decides to hang up his boots. He made such a positive impact in the dressing room during his short time here so far, so why not keep those good vibes going. I’m sure he can offer an awful lot of knowledge to the likes of Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial; who’d simply thrive by working with someone like Ibrahimovic.
