Many thought Manchester United would splash the cash to bring in a world class centre-back last summer, but that didn’t happen and Louis van Gaal chose to convert Daley Blind into that position. For the most part the Dutchman has excelled, but the club still need that experienced man back there.
According to the German media outlet Kicker, Manchester United are ready to bring in that veteran this coming summer, with a move for Wolfsburg’s Naldo in the offing.
Naldo, 33, has spent the majority of his career out in the Bundesliga, and over the last four years has proven himself as one of the best in the league at his job.
Although Manchester United need someone with that knowhow of playing at the back for several years, you do feel that moving for a 33-year old may just be a bit too much. Yes, he’d do a great job for a year or so, but thats about it.
