Manchester United set Thursday deadline to sell Romelu Lukaku: report

Romelu Lukaku is yet to play for Manchester United on pre-season tour. The superstar Belgian has been ‘injured’ although I’m not sure I believe that…

For me, it feels as though it’s just a matter of time before Lukaku will depart Old Trafford. My feelings on that front grew even stronger when the forward wasn’t named in the Reds squad that’ll take on Kristiansund tomorrow evening…

Today we’ve been given an update from Belgium media outlet, HLN, who state that Manchester United have set a Thursday deadline in which Lukaku must be sold by. They’ve done that in order to ensure they have enough time to find a replacement – which is certainly smart on their pat.

So far, Inter Milan are willing to offer €70m (£63m) plus add-ons. However, more funds could become available if Inter’s move for Edin Dzeko falls through, while United are still holding out for €85m (£77m) as they look to recoup what they paid to sign Lukaku from Everton…

Inter just need to put up or shut up as all they’re doing is unsettling Lukaku. For what it’s worth, I do think the Serie A side will eventually cave into United’s demands but they better do it quickly…
