It’s that time of year when transfer rumours start popping up in the papers, and with Manchester United, stories around the Red Devils always seem to dominate the headlines. Today, the Daily Mail have another bizarre transfer story on their website; but it’s a deal Mourinho clearly isn’t too keen on.
The report says that Manchester United are set to reject a loan offer from Spanish club Sevilla, who wanted to take Anthony Martial to La Liga on a short-term deal. The Mail also go on to say that Martial, 21, is keen to play regular football, but Jose Mourinho believes the forward can apply himself better.
In my opinion, it has been a tough few months for the Frenchman, and you can understand the frustration. Last season he was an integral part of Manchester United’s team, but this year he has been in and out of the starting eleven which is something that obviously no player wants.
However, you don’t lose talent and that’s something he’ll always have. For me, I’ve no doubts that if Martial toughs out this rough patch, he’ll come out of it a better player and force his way back into proceedings; that’s just how good he is.
