Manchester United have shown an solid interest in highly rated Southampton right-back, Nathaniel Clyne, according to Graeme Bailey who writes for Goal.com. The 23-year old full-back has made huge strides this season, flourishing in a Southampton side who are much improved under Dutchman Ronald Koeman.
The buccaneering Englishman made his debut for the Three Lions last month, and he’s made a great impression with Manchester United as well as North-West rivals Liverpool. Goal go on to say that it is unclear when United will make a bid, but the move could happen as early as January if Louis van Gaal offers enough.
Clyne has just twelve months left on his current contract, meaning that Southampton will either have to sell up, or get him tied down to a new deal pretty quickly, with less than four weeks until the transfer window opens up.
A club source confirmed: “There is a real worry at the club about Nathaniel; some very big clubs are circling.”
