Manchester United show interest in… Vito Mannone…

In perhaps what is the weirdest transfer rumour of the summer so far, Manchester United have shown an interest in Sunderland goalkeeper Vito Mannone. According to Gazzetta dello Sport, United have contacted Sunderland about the possibility of bringing him in to Manchester United.

Mannone is 25-years old, and theres almost no way he’d replace David de Gea as United’s #1 keeper. So the chances are that Anders Lindegaard is on his way out of Manchester United, leaving Mannone as backup. It probably also means its the end of the road for our young keeper Ben Amos, who started a Premier League game against Stoke back in 2012.
