Manchester United are stalling in their contract talks with David de Gea, Yahoo Sport claim, per The Metro.
Apparently, the Red Devils are yet to approach the 27-year-old’s representatives, and a source close to De Gea is claiming that the club are being ‘too slow’ about the whole situation.
De Gea’s current deal expires in 2019, with the club having the option to extend that by a further year if they so choose.
Real Madrid are apparently expected to reignite their interest in United’s #1, and he could well have his head turned by Los Blancos if they make a firm offer for De Gea.
At the end of the day, we’re talking about the best goalkeeper in world football. Genuinely, just give him whatever he wants and get him tied down until he’s into his mid-thirties. He’s a world-class player and we’re lucky to have him.
When you read about astronomical wages that are being paid to Paul Pogba and Alexis Sanchez, De Gea has every right to demand a new big-money deal, and the club would be absolutely daft if they don’t bow at his feet and give him whatever he’s asking for.
