Manchester United Football Club could be on the verge of losing one of their most loyal servants this summer, with Michael Carrick out-of-contract, and no new deal yet to be offered to the 34-year old. According to the Daily Mirror, Everton are thought to be chasing his services.
Roberto Martinez is believed to be a massive admirer of Carrick, and you’d imagine he’s hoping that the Northern lad can come in and play a similar impact to that of Gareth Barry.
Its a tough one with Carrick. He has been fantastic for us for several years now, but this season we have seen a dip in his performances on occasion – however at times he has still shown what he can do – look at Manchester City away just last weekend.
The real worry is his age. Lets face it, he turns 35 this summer, and if the club can bring in someone in a similar mould with more years ahead of him then that may be the way to go.
