Manchester United star facing race against time to be fit for Sevilla clash: report

Manchester United’s Eric Bailly is facing a race against time to be fit for the Champions League game against Sevilla on February 21st, according to ESPN.

The 23-year-old has been missing since before the turn of the year, but after some serious defensive woes recently, the sooner Bailly is back, the better.

However, despite returning to training at Old Trafford last month, the away game against the Spanish side may come a week too soon for the centre-half, with the return leg looking like a more realistic target for Bailly.

In my opinion, it’s pretty obvious that Bailly is by far and away our best defender and it’s been a much tougher task without him on the field.

The Premier League is gone now, with the Champions League presenting us with an opportunity to prove that United are heading in the right direction. We need our best players if we want to go far into this tournament, and having Bailly fit and available is essential.

He’s been out of action for three months so it may take him some time to get fully up to speed, but we’re desperate for his positional sense, front-footed style of play and agressive nature.
