Manchester United beat Wolfsburg 2-1 at Old Trafford last night, with Louis van Gaal getting his first points in the Champions League group stage on the board. He also gave a European debut to one of United’s hottest talents, Andreas Pereira.
“I’m very pleased that the manager has given me this opportunity. I played my first 30 mins in the CL & hopefully I can play more” Pereira said.
The young Brazilian certainly deserved his chance, too. He made his first start against Ipswich in the Capital One Cup and topped off a superb performance with a fantastic free-kick.
He clearly has bags of talent and potential to go an awfully long way in this game, and he certainly didn’t look out of place for the half an hour he was on the pitch last night.
Louis van Gaal clearly has a lot of faith in the 20-year old, and hopefully we’ll get to see plenty more of him as the season progresses.
