Manchester United got back to winning ways at the weekend, as Mourinho’s men managed to stick three past a struggling Swansea City side. One man who didn’t make the squad was Memphis Depay, and that has further fuelled rumours about his exit from Old Trafford.
The Dutchman hasn’t been anywhere near to his best since his £25million move to the Theatre of Dreams under Louis van Gaal, and has found himself out of the mix under Jose Mourinho as well.
A move away could definitely be in the offing when the January transfer window opens, and reports say that Depay will reject a move to Marseille in favour of staying in England.
Perhaps he wants to stay in the country to prove Manchester United wrong, which would be typical of his persona, and you have to respect that. You do feel his career here is over however which is extremely sad, because you just know it’ll come back to hurt us at some point in the future.
