Manchester United are making checks on left-back Kieran Tierney, the Daily Mirror are claiming.
Jose Mourinho has apparently received glowing reports on the young Scot, who currently plies his trade for Celtic in the SPL.
At just 20, there is definite room for development to come from Tierney, and his immense talent is clear for all to see. However, stepping up from the SPL to the Premier League will be tough, should the move happen.
It seems that the self-proclaimed Special One is intent on acquiring a new left-sided defender this term, which probably means the writing is on the wall for a certain Luke Shaw…
Personally, though, I’d love to see a defender with more experience come in. Our back line has made so many silly mistakes this term, which is so unlike a Mourinho side. They’re craving for that leader who can take control when the going gets tough, and I’m not sure Tierney fits that mould.
Perhaps what’s interesting to United is the fact that he can play all across the back four if required, while also being relatively cheap, with the club feeling they could sign him for around £10million.
