Manchester United Football Club have added Eric Bailly to the first-team fold, with Jose Mourinho looking to bring in more faces to the club. However, the self-proclaimed Special One won’t have it easy – especially in the chase to land Henrikh Mkhitaryan from Borussia Dortmund.
The Armenian has just twelve months left to run on his current deal, with Manchester United clearly keen on landing him this summer. They won’t have it all their own way though, with the usually reliable Gianluca Di Marzio saying that Arsenal are also in the race – however, United remain in pole position.
The Italian Di Marzio also adds that United have offered €25million for Mkhitaryan, but the German club are holding out for in excess of €40million for the 27-year-old.
With so little time left on his contract, Manchester United have a real shot at landing a genuinely world class winger this summer, and they should keep pursuing a deal until Dortmund eventually succumb to the pressure.
