Manchester United striker has travelled to London and could start tonight – report

Manchester United’s FA Cup quarter-final against Chelsea is just a couple of hours away now, with Jose Mourinho hoping to get a victory over his former employers. Earlier, it was reported that the team would be without three key players in the form of Wayne Rooney, Anthony Martial and Marcus Rashford.

However, contrary to the majority, the Daily Mirror are now sensationally claiming that Marcus Rashford could well start the match. It was said that the man from Wythenshawe would be unavailable with an illness, but The Mirror state that club officials have been monitoring that situation.

They also add that the 19-year-old made his own way down to London, away from the rest of the squad. Presumably to keep the illness away from the other players if true.

What a brilliant little boost this would be. At the very least, it means we’ll have a recognised striker in the squad, and it definitely gives Jose Mourinho another option. Rashford has been criminally underused this season in my opinion, and if he can drag himself out on that field and get those legs going, he can terrorise any defender on the planet.

Let’s just hope this news is true now, but it won’t be long until we find out for definite.
