Manchester United have been widely linked with a move for Zlatan Ibrahimovic this summer, and as we approach the European Championships, nothing has been made official regarding his next club.
The latest man to have his say on the transfer saga is Anthony Martial, and he says that Zlatan Ibrahimovic would be a fantastic signing for Manchester United.
“If Zlatan comes, it would be really good,” Martial said. “He is a great striker and he will bring us his experience.”
At this point in time, Jose Mourinho doesn’t really have that many on-field leaders to work with. You look at Michael Carrick and Wayne Rooney, and honestly, that’s about it.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic would bring bags of ability, a real eye for goal and that aura about him that not many players have.
It would be a massive gamble to bring him in, though. He’s currently 34 and isn’t getting any younger, and one major injury could end his career – in doing so that’d leave Manchester United to pick up the pieces.
He has a fantastic relationship with Jose Mourinho though, so hopefully we hear something about this potential move before the European Championships kick off.
