FC Barcelona star Aleix Vidal could be on his way to the Premier League, with his agent in talks with Manchester United and Liverpool according to Estadio Deportivo, translated by The Mirror.
Vidal scored against Real Madrid during El Clasico last month, but has fallen behind both Nelson Semedo and Sergi Roberto in the pecking order, and understandably, he’s seeking a move away from the Camp Nou.
Versatility is a key factor in the modern-day game, with Vidal able to play as a right-back or right-winger, which would give Jose Mourinho options aplenty in two important areas of the field.
The Spaniard has been at FC Barcelona since 2015 and has always been used as a bit-part player. At 28, he’s now at the point in his career where he simply has to be playing football, and you can certainly understand why he wants a move away from Catalonia.
Would I want him at Old Trafford? Probably not. He’s a decent player, but nothing more than that. I’d rather see time invested in Axel Tuanzebe or Timothy Fosu-Mensah in the right-back slot – both of him are way more talented than Vidal, and obviously, they are already at the club which makes things far easier.
