Manchester United have been linked with a move for Holland international midfielder Nigel de Jong, according to The Sunday People. The former Manchester City man currently plays his football for AC Milan, and would cost around £6million to prise him away from the Serie A.
Nigel de Jong is 29, and someone whom Louis van Gaal knows very well from their time together with the Dutch national team. He’s a midfield enforcer who’s sole purpose in the side is to allow others to start the attacks. All De Jong does is break up play and give the ball to the attackers.
Being Dutch, the close ties with Louis van Gaal were obviously going to bring transfer rumours of half the national team to Manchester United.mso far we’ve been linked with Daley Blind, Arjen Robben, Kevin Strootman and many more. The chances are that Van Gaal will eventually bring in some Dutch players, but right now we’re no closer to learning who Manchester United will sign this summer.
