Manchester United target proven Premier League striker – report

The January transfer window is rapidly approaching, with Louis van Gaal keen to bolster his squad to put in a second half of the season surge for the title. One area which probably needs work is the striker, because the only man hitting the back of the net at present is Anthony Martial.

However, the Iron Tulip is looking like adding to that area of the pitch in January, and according to the Daily Express, Manchester United are considering a move for Everton’s Romelu Lukaku.

The Belgian hitman has been in superb form for the Toffees this term, and this weekend he hit his 50th goal in English football in exactly 100 games which is an outstanding goalscoring record for a player who is just 22.

He’d certainly provide superb help in that area of the field but that would come at a cost. Everton paid close to £30million to sign him on a permanent transfer , and although they’d be reluctant to sell him, they’d want an significant increase on that.
