Manchester United’s transfer window has just closed, but behind the scenes Edward Woodward and Louis van Gaal will already be planning for the next huge transfer window, alongside the football club playing week-in week-out in various competitions.
The club were clearly intent on landing that marquee signing, but that didn’t happen for one reason or another. However the United hierarchy clearly haven’t given up hope on that just yet.
According to the Sunday Mirror, Manchester United have targeted two of Real Madrid’s finest for a potential transfer next summer.
The English publication say that 26-year old Gareth Bale will be Louis van Gaal’s ‘main priority’ come this time next year, and it is thought that Edward Woodward is confident a deal could be done.
There are also reports suggesting that there is ‘growing belief’ that Cristiano Ronaldo could be ready to make a sensational return to Manchester United as he seeks one final payday before retiring.
Both of these rumours seem extremely hard to believe at this point in time, but we’ll have a much clearer idea come the turn of the year when we see how both clubs are doing in their respective leagues.
