Manchester United target to snub Old Trafford move

Manchester United and Arsenal were both reportedly interested in signing Real Madrid’s out-of-favour Angel Di Maria, but the Argentine is set to snub a move to the Premier League in favour of Ligue 1 and AS Monaco. The 25-year old feels undervalued by Ancelotti, and he feels he deserves more playing time due to helping the side win Liga BBVA in 2012.

According to Spanish paper El Confidencial, Di Maria has asked his agent, Jorge Mendes to find him a new club. A move to Monaco is already being discussed between the player and club and could happen as soon as January. Mendes already has links with other Monaco players at present, and this is thought to speed up the transfer.

A few weeks ago I would’ve certainly said we need a new world class winger, but after the recent performances of Antonio Valencia, and Nani’s excellent performance away at Leverkusen, I’d suggest our wingers are finding form again. Lets not forget these are the same wingers that have helped us to various pieces of silverware, and no other side in the League has the strength in depth we have out wide.
