Manchester United Football Club have a decision to make regarding the future of Michael Carrick, with the veteran out of contract this summer. Several reports have said that he will not be offered a new deal, but Neil Custis of the Sun says otherwise.
Custis says that Manchester United have personally told Carrick that they want him to stay at Old Trafford beyond his current deal, despite no new contract being officially on the table as of yet.
With a mass overhaul expected this summer, and the possibility of a new manager being at the helm, it would be wise to keep what little experience we have in the dressing room.
Alongside Rooney, Carrick is one of the only senior figures currently in the squad and that kind of experience is a massive factor – particularly during times when a club is in transition.
