Manchester United to complete £27m Luke Shaw move after World Cup

Manchester United will finalise a £27million move for Southampton left-back Luke Shaw, according to the usually reliable Mark Ogden of the Telegraph. It now looks a case of when rather than if the move will happen, as Mark Ogden is one of the most reliable when it comes to United news.

The 18-year old from Kingston upon Thames wants to focus on his England commitments before signing on the dotted line at Old Trafford, and despite interest from his boyhood club Chelsea, it looks like Shaw will be wearing the red of Manchester United next season.

This deal has believed to have been in place for a while now, and David Moyes was in control of the early talks back in April. It looks like the deal will now go through at the start of July at the very earliest, as thats when the group stages of the World Cup end.

Sky Bet have also suspended betting on Shaw making the move to United, suggesting that everyone expects this move to happen at some point.

  1. Great signing if true but to fully compliment Shaw we should sign this young quartet Martins indi, William Carvalho, Jordy Classie and Memphis Delay. For our two big summer signings after that quintent should be Kevin Strootman and Jackson Martinez and last but not least buy Daryl Jaanmat which is a super bargain because he is very talented wing back to challenge Rafael or promote Saidy Janko who fits the bill perfectly and I believe would give Rafael a challenge

  2. Things in football change very fast these days. I have hope we might conclude the Shaw deal once Southampton’s manager joins Spurs. Perhaps later in the week or next. However, i fear if Woodward leaves it until after the world cup!

  3. I am so fed up with this kid, will he , won’t he, I’m putting all my attention to the World Cup, Chelsea showing new interest in him, it is high time the kid learned a lesson, tell him to go to Chelsea, where there is no chance of first team regular games and his salary will not be what he has been offered,, why he has been advised to wait till after the world cup is simple, he is hoping Hodgson will give him regular playing time so he can demand more money, time Man U looked elsewhere, go back to Fabio Coentrao, let the kid feel the pressure, maybe he needs to know he is not the only choice for us, you need to know that players come to Man U because they want to, goodbye kid and good luck
