Manchester United are ready to go ‘all-out’ to sign Real Madrid striker, Alvaro Morata. That’s according to The Sun, who adds that Cristiano Ronaldo is expected to ‘make peace’ with Los Blancos, meaning he’ll likely remain at the Santiago Bernabeu.
Morata, 24, has been linked with a move to Old Trafford for the last couple of weeks now, and I guess it comes as no surprise that Jose Mourinho is chasing a striker. Particularly as Zlatan Ibrahimovic hasn’t been offered a new deal.
The influential Swede scored on 28 occasions last campaign, and Morata will be tasked with doing all he can to match that impressive tally. In limited appearances last season, the Spaniard scored 20 times, which in my opinion, bodes well ahead of this proposed move.
I think he’d suit Premier League football down to a tee. Morata is tall, strong and quick. He can score goals with both feet as well as his head, and he’s much more mobile than the aforementioned Ibrahimovic, so in a sense, it’s an upgrade.
Negotiating with Madrid is never going to be easy so fully expect this one to be a long and drawn-out process. It’s likely that we’ll continue to get almost daily updates on this front, and it could drag on for another few weeks yet in my opinion…
