Manchester United slumped to their first defeat of the season away at Swansea City, and once again Wayne Rooney looked a shadow of his former self. That has seemingly prompted the manager to take a look at options available to him, and the club could be about to make their move.
According to RMC, Manchester United are undergoing talks with AS Monaco about €50million transfer of the French striker Anthony Martial.
Martial, 19, made his breakthrough last year and became a first-team regular, scoring 11 times in all competitions for the Ligue One side. He has also just been awarded his first national team call-up by Didier Deschamps.
From what I’ve seen of Anthony Martial he seems well equipped and suited to the Premier League. He has bags of pace, strength, energy and he looks intelligent on the ball. My concern would be his age as he’s only 19. He’s a rough diamond like Memphis Depay and the team cannot rely on him too heavily.

United need a decent seasoned but NOT over the hill striker…Woodward instead of strutting around should have been on top of this months ago…and if there were knock backs moved on, now as with previous seasons its panic stations, we’ve sold little Pea, if Rooney picks up a knock or red in Oct…??? Woodward has had 4 previous wondows to really get his act right…the earlier buys were good, especially Darmian…but he has had 2 months now and it seems little progress apart from playing hard ball with madird and boxing himself into a corner with 24 hrs to go….hope he has an ace up his sleeve…..
Of course the bold approach would be to get DeGea’s head right during this break and to give Wilson, Perreira and Linegard a run albeit we know you win nowt with kids!
