Manchester United are preparing to make one final bid for Borussia Dortmund centre-back, Mats Hummels, claim the Metro. Manchester United have apparently been trying to prise Hummels away from Dortmund for the last three transfer windows, but Jurgen Klopp has remained firm and always said that Hummels is indispensable.
Although the 25-year old is happy in Dortmund, it is believed that Hummels could be tempted to move if a giant contract offer came in. Manchester United are in a situation where they must spend big to regain their stature as the best side in the country, and it looks like Louis van Gaal is intent on doing most of the big business in this transfer window.
We’ve been linked with other centre-backs, such as Stefan de Vrij and Thomas Vermaelen – both of whom are good defenders, but Hummels is at that next level. He’s still young for a centre-back at 25, and he’s up there with the best defenders in world football already.
Do you think we have a realistic chance of landing Hummels? Let us know your thoughts in the comment box below.

WE CAN BUT WONT
would love it to happen but Dortmund will probably resist.
If he is such a world class centre back, and LvG is so desperate for Utd to sign him, why would you offer £11,m for Vermaelen, £24,m for Miranda, but only £20,m for Hummels?
