Manchester United to offer £40m for Toni Kroos

The summer transfer window isn’t anywhere near opening yet this Toni Kroos saga could turn out to be one of those that runs on right until transfer deadline day. Last week, Bayern’s chairman claimed that Toni Kroos will be going nowhere, but today The Mirror are claiming we’ll offer £40m for the 24-year old.

Toni Kroos played against United on Tuesday night, and he completed the most passes on the pitch with over 92 attempted and 88 successful ones, giving him an impressive 96% pass rate. After the game the German international hinted Old Trafford is a ‘beautiful stadium’ further fuelling the fire about his future.

Out of contract in 2015, Bayern could be forced to sell this summer if the player refuses to pen a new deal although their hierarchy has recently said otherwise.

United think they can tempt Kroos to a Premier League move by offering him a huge £200,000 a week salary, over trebling what he currently earns in Bavaria. The money will surely be tempting for the player, given how short a footballing career is.

I’d certainly welcome Toni Kroos at Old Trafford. He’s the player we’ve been calling out for since the departure of Paul Scholes. He can pass, move, and has an excellent shot on him. A real star in the middle of the park.

  1. well moyes already has a brilliant ball distributor with kagawa…. but he plays on the wing or on the bench…. i bet the odds would be very high kroos played on the wing!

the sooner carrick out of our midfield the better! for a highly rated defensive midfielder his stats are practically identical to the highly criticised fellaini

whether fellaini or cleverley are in the midfield, it is poor. the only constant has been carrick!
