Manchester United a preparing a new bumper contract for Spanish goalkeeper, David de Gea. This comes after the news that Real Madrid are showing solid interest in our shot-stopper, and according to the Mirror, De Gea’s fine form is set to be rewarded with a contract worth around £120,000-a-week.
De Gea has just over eighteen months left on his initial contract which runs out in the summer of 2016, and talk of a new contract has been around for a few months now. His excellent performance against Everton certainly turned some heads, and that’ll probably cost Manchester United a few extra grand a week to sign him up.
This is a deal that Manchester United must get sealed sooner rather than later. If De Gea has another season like last [when he won the Player of the Year award], he’ll hold all the cards with just one year left on his contract. The board need to get him tied down as soon as possible.
