Bayern Munich have made Ander Herrera one of their primary targets for the January transfer window, according to Sport1. Bayern are ready to use Xherdan Shaqiri as bait to persuade United into selling the Spaniard when the winter window opens in a couple of months time, but bizarrely, Sport1 reckon Bayern value Herrera at less than what United paid for him.
The figure being quoted by Sport1 is just over £21million, which would be a loss for Manchester United just six months into Ander Herrera’s dream move. I really struggle to believe that this transfer rumour has any substance to it whatsoever, and thats before Xherdan Shaqiri’s name comes into the fold.
Bayern are prepared to use Shaqiri as a sort of sweetener in the deal, with the Swiss winger not playing regularly in Bavaria. Shaqiri is the sort of player who’d do well in the Premier League due to his ability to play physically if needs be. However I’d still prefer us to keep hold of Herrera as he’s a real midfield prospect.
