Manchester United were heavily linked with Everton Ribeiro in January, but no move ended up happening and the 25-year old stayed put in Cruzeiro. Reports in Brazil have suggested that United are to rekindle interest in Brazilian football’s Player of the Year.
Cruzeiro apparently turned down a €13m bid for Ribeiro from an unnamed English side, and are still looking for around €16m if they are to sell their star player.
Jaeci Carvalho, an established sports journalist, has suggested that a bid may be agreed and Ribeiro could be on his way to Old Trafford after the upcoming World Cup. Although Ribeiro hasn’t got a Brazilian cap to his name just yet, recent performances have impressed the national side and he has a late chance of making the team.
The winger has scored 17 goals in 69 appearances for Cruzeiro.
