Manchester United to submit £20m Schweinsteiger bid

Manchester United are readying a £20million move for German international Bastian Schweinsteigier, claim the Express. The Bayern star reportedly doesn’t fit into Pep Guardiola’s plans, and although they want to keep a hold of Toni Kroos, they’d be prepared to let Schweinsteiger leave for the right transfer fee.

New United boss Louis van Gaal has worked with Schweinsteiger previously, and could be prepared to try and persuade the midfielder to make the move to Manchester in this transfer window.

At 29, Schweinsteiger doesn’t have long left in terms of playing time, but right now he’d walk into our current midfield. He’s far better than anything we have and one of the most complete midfielders in world football.

The only worry would be his poor injury record, and if he picked up one severe problem, then that could be curtains on his career. At this moment in time United need to take risks to try and persuade big names to come to United, and Schweinsteiger, if available, must be at least worth an enquiry.
