Manchester United made some huge signings over the summer, the largest of which saw Paul Pogba return to the Theatre of Dreams in a world record deal costing close to £90million. However, that won’t stop Jose further adding to that area of the field when the January transfer window opens.
According to talkSPORT (via A’Bola), Manchester United are keeping tabs on Sporting Lisbon midfielder, and European Championship winner, William Carvalho.
The 24-year-old has been highly regarded for around two years now, but no club have managed to prise him away from Sporting Lisbson as of yet. That could change in a few months time though, particularly if Jose Mourinho comes calling.
Manchester United have reportedly had scouts keeping track of Carvalho, and were at Lisbon’s game against Rio Ave this weekend just to see how he played live in the flesh.
Mourinho also watched his Portuguese compatriot in action numerous times during the European Championships, showing just how highly he rates the defensive midfielder.
