Manchester United transfer target drops hint that he could seal Old Trafford move: report

Manchester United interest in FC Barcelona defender Yerry Mina came to fruition recently. With time dwindling down in the transfer window, the Red Devils will have to act quickly if they’re to sign a new centre-half this summer.

Now, the transfer saga has taken another twist, reported by the Manchester Evening News. They say that the 23-year-old has followed the club on his social media channels, while also choosing to follow several United players; including Paul Pogba and Antonio Valencia.

It comes as no real secret that United are trying their utmost to secure a deal for a new central defender. Heck, they certainly need it at this point, particularly after watching some awful performances during pre-season tour.

Mina’s stock has certainly gone through the roof following an excellent World Cup; including scoring a brilliant headed goal against England.

It was his all-round displays that impressed, though. He proved to be a leader from the back, the Colombian was strong in the tackle and he showed a real maturity beyond his years.

With that said, I would love to see us sign someone slightly older, but if, say, Toby Alderweireld isn’t available, it makes sense to chase someone who we actually have a chance at signing.
