Ivan Perisic is set to reject a new contract offered to him by Inter Milan, in order to try and force through a move to Manchester United, according to the Daily Mirror.
The 28-year-old has been offered a £85,000-a-week contract until 2021, which would have been a significant improvement on his current terms of £68,000-a-week, which has three years left to run.
Jose Mourinho has apparently identified the Croatia international has a top target, and he’d definitely bring some much-needed consistency to our starting eleven – as nobody really locked down the left-wing spot last term.
His 11 goal haul in Serie A in the 2016/17 season is quite handy, but he’d primarily be bought for his brilliant ability to cross the ball and lay it on a plate for his teammates – namely the striker.
Manchester United have been desperate to add more firepower to the squad this summer, because outside of Zlatan Ibrahimovic with 28 goals, there wasn’t much output from the supporting cast.
Another reason as to why Mourinho loves Perisic will be because he doesn’t mind tracking back and doing some defending either. If you want to play in a Jose team, you simply have to work on both sides of the ball.
