Manchester United trio set to start for England

Despite a poor season domestically, there is still a heavy presence in terms of Manchester United players amongst the England camp. There are currently four United players in Roy’s final 23, and a further two on the standby list if anyone gets injured.

Danny Welbeck got his chance against Peru and largely disappointed, and tonight its the big chance for young defensive duo Chris Smalling and Phil Jones. Wayne Rooney also starts, but he’s out on the left wing.

It doesn’t look like United will get a deal done for Luke Shaw before the World Cup, but it’ll be good to see how he gets on tonight.

England XI

Foster; Milner, Jones, Smalling, Shaw; Lampard, Wilshere; Oxlade-Chamberlain, Barkley, Rooney; Lambert

Its also worth noting that Antonio Valencia will probably start for Ecuador.
