Manchester United trying to seal Luke Shaw deal before World Cup

Earlier today the BBC suggested that Manchester United and Southampton have resumed talks over the transfer of Luke Shaw, and this evening The Guardian have added that the Old Trafford club are pressing on and trying to confirm the deal before the World Cup.

United are believed to be the only club with a firm offer on the table for the 18-year old left-back, and Shaw’s preferred destination is believed to be Old Trafford. The deal seems more a case of when rather than if at the moment, and hopefully United can get it done before England jet off to Brazil.

The Three Lions jet off to Florida for their training camp this weekend, and play two games in the USA before making the trip to Brazil shortly after. You’d think that any deal would have to be announced this weekend if it is to go through beforehand.

Luke Shaw isn’t in any rush for a deal to go through though, and it is thought he wants to concentrate on England’s World Cup campaign before sorting his domestic future out.
