Cast your mind back to the summer, when Manchester United eclipsed the world record transfer fee for a player when they brought Paul Pogba ‘back home’. The 23-year-old Frenchman has obviously been a big part of Jose Mourinho’s plans – but now he could be used off the field too…
According to the Daily Record, Manchester United are hopeful that Paul Pogba can help aid the Red Devils’ pursuit of Antoine Griezmann in the summer.
The pair are close friends, and we’ve obviously seen countless photos of them together during the international breaks and over the summer. Now Jose and company want to add Pogba’s buddy to the Manchester United squad in yet another blockbuster deal.
Daily Record’s Duncan Castles adds that United are confident they have the financial pull to tempt Atletico Madrid into parting with their star man, but they want Pogba to aid that process.
At the end of the day, it is quite obvious that the Old Trafford club aren’t messing around in the transfer market, and in my opinion, Antoine Griezmann would be the final piece of the puzzle.
The 25-year-old attacker is capable of playing all across the front line, and he’d bring that extra pace, dynamism and cutting-edge that Manchester United have been lacking.
All the top players can perform together, in any country under any manager. I’ve no doubts that if Manchester United can get this deal done, Jose Mourinho’s men will be right up there for the title next season.
