Manchester United want to appoint a Director of Football, and they’ve identified their man

Manchester United have been on an horrific run of form recently, and Louis van Gaal is certainly largely to blame for that. However, he could soon have help on this front, with the club reportedly looking into the possibility of hiring a Director of Football.

The Sun say that Edward Woodward has already identified his number one target for that position, with Dan Ashworth, a 44-year old who used to be West Brom’s technical director.

Having a Director of Football certainly wouldn’t be the worst idea in the world, but he’d have to work in tandem with Louis van Gaal, with all the transfer power sticking with the Dutchman.

However I’d certainly be all for the idea, just to take some of the pressure and stress off of the Iron Tulip, who clearly is struggling to cope with all thats going on at the moment.
