Manchester United will have to stump up £47million to land attacking midfielder

Manchester United always seem to be in the conversation when the latest young starlet of the footballing world has been born, and that happens to be the case once again here. According to the Daily Telegraph, United are interested in bringing in SL Benfica’s Renato Sanches this summer.

The young midfielder has been making a real name for himself back in his homeland of Portugal, with Barcelona, Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and Manchester United all battling it out to land the 18-year old.

However he will not come cheaply, and with all these clubs fighting for him, Benfica are asking for a massive £47million in terms of a total transfer fee – including a huge £30million up front.

This is a huge amount of money on someone so young, especially when you are investing purely in talent rather than proven quality. It would be a massive gamble, but its one United can afford to make with the amount of money at their disposal.
