The January transfer window is now open, and Manchester United clearly need some sort of a boost to try and turn our fortunes around. Louis van Gaal’s side is currently on an eight match winless run, and new faces could certainly help the low morale which is currently protruding in the dressing room.
John Stones of Everton is the latest name to be linked with an Old Trafford move, and reports coming out of France suggest that Manchester United will make a move for him in this window.
The worrying thing about this move is just how much it’d cost Manchester United. Everton turned down all approaches from Chelsea for Stones in the summer, and the highest bid at that point was believed to be around the £40million mark. You’d think that it’d now cost United even more to lure him in the middle of the season, and that would be a huge gamble.
