Manchester United winger will not play for U21s as he isn’t ready

Manchester United re-called Adnan Januzaj back from his loan move at Borussia Dortmund last week, as he wasn’t getting anywhere near the amount of playing time he deserved. Now, Louis van Gaal has met the media, and made the absurd claim that the 20-year old isn’t fit enough to play U21 football.

“We have reconsidered and we think we have to build him up for the game.” Van Gaal said. “And not to risk too much, by putting him in a match.”

Honestly, I just don’t get it. Januzaj hasn’t been injured, he just needs match rhythm. The only way he is going to get that is by playing football, and it seems daft that Louis van Gaal has deemed him not fit enough to play for the U21s.

Hopefully the young Belgian can get his head down, work hard and show Louis van Gaal that he is more than good enough to play for the first team here at Old Trafford.
