Manchester United’s £300,000-a-week man could leave this summer

Manchester United’s current squad is slap-bang in the middle of a massive overhaul under Louis van Gaal, with the Dutchman still trying to get rid of the dead wood. One man who could be on his way out of Old Trafford is Wayne Rooney.

The Sunday World say that Manchester United’s current captain is seeking assurances from the board regarding his future at the club, as he weighs up a potentially lucrative offer that has been sent his way from China.

The publication are quick to suggest that Rooney is not pushing for a move away, and he just wants to know whether he still features in Louis van Gaal plans before he begins to consider the offer.

Its an odd one with Wayne Rooney. He clearly has the leadership qualities to play a part for the club, but his performances on the field have declined massively over the last eighteen months or so. If the right offer came in for our captain, it may be tempting to part with him.
