Manchester United’s Europa League opponents announced, and it’s special for Paul Pogba

Manchester United ensured safe progression through to the knockout phases of the Europa League last midweek, as Jose’s men put in a professional performance to knock off Zorya Luhansk by a 2-0 scoreline. Today, the draw for the round of 32 has been made.

The Red Devils have been handed a two-legged tie against French side Saint-Etienne. The Ligue 1 team currently sit eighth in their table, whereas United, who have been playing some good stuff recently sit in sixth in the Premier League.

Although any European tie is always an intriguing prospect, it’s particularly special for our certain French midfielder Paul Pogba. The 23-year-old will go head-to-head with his big brother Florentin, who is a centre-half who has played over fifty times for his current club. Florentin is three years Paul’s senior and is a full Guinea international.

On the whole, you’d imagine that our Manchester United side are a real team on the up, and Jose Mourinho does have us playing some good stuff. If we can start performing on a more regular basis, we’ll definitely be a real force to be reckoned with in the competition. Who knows, we could go all the way.

Manchester United’s home leg will be played on Wednesday the 15th of February, with the return game played on Thursday 23rd of the same month.
