Manchester United’s hopes of signing French star dealt major blow

Manchester United were reportedly the frontrunners to sign one of the best players coming out of France at the moment, in the form of Antoine Griezmann. However according to talkSPORT, United’s hopes have been majorly dashed as Real Madrid have joined the race to sign him.

It is thought that Florentino Perez wants Benzema and Griezmann to replicate their national team form for club as well as country, and the 24-year old is open to a controversial cross-city switch despite the wrath of the Atletico fans.

Griezmann has had a sensational twelve months or so at Atletico, scoring plenty of goals and important ones at that. He seems to have slotted straight into the team there, and his desire to stay in Spain makes Real Madrid instant favourites to land his signature if he does decide to move on.
