His fine form has been rewarded by Roy Hodgson, who has chosen to call him up to the England squad following the injury to Jamie Vardy.
This is huge for Lingard, and what a great confidence booster this must be for the 22-year old. He has barely been involved domestically up until the last month or so and his meteoric rise to fame has been a joy to watch.
Lingard scored his first club goal last time around, and with a tough friendly against France on the horizon it could be a good opportunity for the Warrington-born winger to get his first international goal.
