Manchester United are in desperate need of a new striker, following the news that Zlatan Ibrahimovic will not be offered a new contract at the Theatre of Dreams. His 28-goal haul will need to be replaced – which is no easy task by the way.
One name that keeps being mentioned in the media is that of Alvaro Morata. It feels like every day, we’re being updated with a new twist and turn in that saga, but now, journalist Dean Jones has had his say on social media.
Am told Perez didn't want to do any business over Morata before he was re-elected but a deal with Utd should start to move faster now

He is claiming that following the news that Florentino Perez has been re-elected as their club President, things should now speed up. Perez was obviously keen to hold his seat and any bad press in regards to letting a top star go could have potentially hurt his campaign.
However, his place at the helm of Los Blancos has been guaranteed, and now Jones believes things should start moving quicker – which is obviously great news for us.
I’m a huge fan of Morata’s. He’s only 24, but the Spaniard is such a big-game player and he knows exactly where the back of the net is. The fact that he was in and out of the Madrid team has probably forced his hand and in my opinion, he’s ready to move away and earn regular first-team football elsewhere. Here is to hoping that a deal is done soon, and he can join the rest of the United squad on the pre-season tour next month.
