Manchester United have finally announced the confirmed squad numbers ahead of the new season, and as expected Memphis Depay is our new #7, as Louis van Gaal has shown huge faith in the young Dutchman – particularly folioing the disastrous wearers previous to the 21-year old.
This does add more pressure on Depay, but reports suggested he demanded the iconic jersey and Louis van Gaal was impressed with his confidence and put a show of faith in the talented winger.
Lets hope he fairs better than the likes of Michael Owen, Antonio Valencia and Angel di Maria, who all struggled to live up to the pressure of the jersey worn by the likes of George Best, David Beckham and Cristiano Ronaldo.
Other notable changes include Luke Shaw moving from #3 to #23, Schweinsteger taking the #31, Darmian going for #36 and Schneiderlin taking #28.
