Manchester United’s odds of signing left-winger slashed hugely

Manchester United’s odds of bringing in Julian Draxler have been slashed significantly, according to bwin bookmakers, via the Daily Star. They say that United are now amongst the favourites to land the German left-winger during this transfer window.

This comes just a few days after Starsport broke the news that Manchester United had made a £30million bid to bring in 22-year-old Draxler, who is currently out in France taking part in the European Championships with Germany.

Draxler has often been linked with a move to England, but last year chose to stay in his homeland after moving from Schalke to Wolfsburg.

He is still young, and is still regarded as one of the hottest attacking prospects coming out of Germany in recent years, hence why several big clubs are showing an interest in landing him.

However, with Draxler having so long left to run on his current contract (four years), he wouldn’t come cheap and it would be a huge gamble for Jose Mourinho.

It’d also probably mean a reduction in playing time for Anthony Martial, unless he plans to utilise Draxler through the middle of the park.
