Manchester United’s Tim Fosu-Mensah named as PL’s fastest player in 2018/19

This season has been a forgettable one for Manchester United. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is going to need time to build as he looks to bring a youthful exuberance to the squad.

One player who has turned into somewhat the forgotten man is Timothy Fosu-Mensah. The Dutchman spent the campaign on loan with Fulham FC, but his time there was cut short due to injury.

The defender only played 13 times for Fulham, but that didn’t stop him being named as the Premier League’s fastest player, United’s official website report.

Somewhat impressively, the 21-year-old was clocked at a speed of 35.32km/hour, beating Kyle Walker’s 35.27km/hour to achieve the label as the fastest player in the country.

I’m a big Fosu-Mensah fan. His first few months at United under Louis van Gaal were mightily impressive. It’s just a shame that Jose Mourinho didn’t really fancy the Dutchman as a player, which has led to a lack in development.

He’s still young enough to claw his way back into the mix, though, and who knows, Solskjaer may be a Fosu-Mensah admirer. At the very least, I think we can expect to see him on pre-season tour this summer.
